Sell With the Next Match in Mind
A tempting offer can save your treasury and still wreck your next arena lineup. This Dominus Gladiatus selling gladiators guide explains where to sell fighters, what happens to their gear, and how to compare an ordinary sale with a rival's offer. Before accepting coins, check which gladiator is leaving and whether you can replace their role.
The official Dominus Gladiatus update history is clear about an important menu change: gladiator selling moved from the Armory to a dedicated Dominus tab in the September 17 update. Older recordings can point you toward an outdated location.
Use the Gladiator Sale Option, Not the Equipment Sell Tab
Open the updated Dominus tab for gladiator selling. Inspect the intended fighter and the value offered before confirming the sale. Do not confuse that transaction with the Armory Sell tab, which handles equipment.
Use a short check before committing:
- Confirm the fighter's identity rather than relying only on a familiar portrait.
- Review their training, role, and current condition.
- Check the next match's required number of entrants.
- Compare the sale payment with what it would take to field a replacement.
- Confirm only when the resulting roster still fits your plan.
Recorded demo player experience from Buck Wilder Plays includes confusion over which gladiator a rival wanted to buy. That is a practical reason to inspect the named fighter, especially when several recruits have similar appearances or unfamiliar names.
Your Equipment Returns, Your Trained Fighter Does Not
The August 19 developer update states that equipped items return to the Armory when a gladiator is sold. You can inspect and reuse that equipment instead of assuming it disappeared with the fighter.
That protection does not make the sale costless. Another recruit still needs the appropriate role, skills, and time to become ready. A recovered weapon cannot fill an empty team slot by itself.
If the actual problem is a small cash shortage, first consider whether the Armory contains genuinely surplus gear. Selling equipment and selling a trained member of the roster solve different-sized problems and carry different consequences.
Compare Rival Offers Without Inventing a Price Formula
Demo player experience includes rival offers above a gladiator's stated worth, and a later ordinary sale for less than an earlier offer. That makes comparing the actual offers useful, but it does not establish a universal resale formula or a guaranteed profit loop.
The developer rebalanced gladiator sale values more than once. Do not treat a recording's sale amount or percentage premium as the fixed rate in your current build.
Rival purchases can also have competitive consequences. In BaronVonGames' demo player experience, the player notes that a fighter sold to the rival could later fight against the player's school. Read the offer's context rather than evaluating it as if it were merely an equipment buyback.
Keep the timing of the sale in view. Selling a reserve before a duel may create a different problem from selling the same reserve immediately before a required team battle. Likewise, a highly trained fighter may be worth more to your upcoming lineup than the amount offered, even if the payment would temporarily fix the treasury.
FAQ
Where do I sell gladiators?
Use the dedicated Dominus tab introduced by the September 17 update. Older instructions directing fighter sales through the Armory are outdated.
Do I lose a sold gladiator's equipped items?
The official updates state that equipped items return to the Armory when a gladiator is sold. Check that inventory before purchasing replacement gear.
Is the Armory Sell tab for gladiators too?
No. Keep equipment sales in the Armory separate from the updated Dominus-tab fighter sale process.
Should I always take a rival's above-value offer?
No. Confirm the fighter, the actual terms, and the effect on your next lineup. A higher cash offer does not automatically compensate for losing the only ready fighter in a required role.
